Profile
Jay Cavalcanto currently serves as a Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Constellation. He is responsible for the strategic direction of Constellation’s operations, cyber security and growth of the technology platforms that enable Constellation.


Professional History
For more than 20 years, Jay has held various positions within the IT organization including IT VP of Technology Design and Engineering, IT Security, Power Trading Operations, Exelon Wind Integration, IT Architecture, and a wide variety of technical roles. In his previous role, Jay was responsible for enterprise architecture, technology strategy and infrastructure design and engineering for Exelon’s enterprise infrastructure which included data centers, network, server hosting, storage, and end user computing. His work enabled Exelon to seamlessly pivot to an all-remote work configuration at the start of the pandemic. This pivot was the culmination of a multi-year strategy that prepared Exelon’s infrastructure and technology platforms to be more elastic resilient and dynamic for whatever situation was presented.
Prior to that, Jay spearheaded Exelon’s cloud hosting design and implementation, enabling Exelon with a hybrid platform that provided strategic flexibility, offering hosting options that met the needs of the business. He also led the transformation of the core productivity tools that Exelon and Constellation employees use each day. Jay has always been instrumental in enabling IT to explore new technologies and understanding their implications to identify where technology can create new values.
Cited as a 2020 ORBIEE Finalist and by Computerworld as a Top 100 Technology Leader, Jay approaches business challenges with his intrinsic passion for innovation, creative problem-solving and measured risk-taking.

Jay has a bachelor’s degree from Drexel University in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Family
Jay lives outside of Philadelphia with his wife and two daughters. He is an avid Peloton user, rower and triathlete.
